7th Grade Art Class Overview
Art Course Outcome:
Upon completion of this art course, students will have a better understanding and appreciation of art history and creating art. Students will learn about the important art eras and movements throughout history. Students will be able to determine the date/century when artwork was made, the artist's name, and what materials were used to create the artwork (for example: marble sculpture, oil on canvas painting, and silver gelatin photography). Students will create their own artwork in the class that coincides with the lesson for that week. Students will be graded on their effort and intentions of their artwork. Students will become more familiar with the various materials used to create pieces of art: pastel, charcoal, photography, graphite pencils, watercolor, colored pencils, and Conté crayon. Students will create portfolio of their work using PowerPoint or Key Note for their final assignment.
